What Fitness Tracker Do You Use?

This is probably one of the most asked questions as I adventure and workout often.  Dedicated fitness trackers are fine, but I need a multifunctional device that can do more than just track my steps.  So, what fitness tracker do I use?

I was an Apple Watch fan, and even got up to the watch that allows me to swim.  But the Apple Watch did not provide what I needed, it was great for wearing casually or for work (gotta love those text and Slack messages), but it had many features I rarely used.  I have also been a Garmin fan, and after acquiring Suunto, they have been my adventure watch.  To make a long story short, I ended up with the Garmin Fenix series and a Garmin Descent series.  The Garmin Fenix is great for everything I do, except scuba diving and therefore I have the Garmin Descent with a wireless air integration for that task.

It does everything I need, and a few things I care less about.  What I love is the detail I get on everything I care about.  I can lift, swim, climb, hike, bike, run, jump out of a plane, and more, and it tracks those events.  As an example, when I run, I get the details of my running form so I can become a better, more efficient runner.

Sure, I can get text messages, notified of incoming calls, track my steps, track my workout intensity, tell the time, etc.  But these watches are true GPS watches, and it gives me the most information I need quickly. For the best fitness tracker, my choice is Garmin.  I doubt I will ever go back to an Apple Watch, unless they do something exactly like Garmin and make a wireless air integrated dive computer which I highly doubt.  It is also my main watch unless I am going to some extravagant function or event where an analog automatic watch is superb.
