Ever had the need to take notes in the rain?  I have when I was hiking in Oregon and Washington through the Pacific Crest Trail, and without one of these notebooks, I would have no way of taking notes (this was well before iPhones were invented).  I also used a Fisher Space Pen or pens that use the Fisher Space Pen Pressurized Cartridges which can write in the rain.  Rite in the Rain has been producing waterproof paper notebooks since 1916 when a logger asked the founder (Jerry L. Darling) of a way to record scaling of logs and tallying of lumber in inclement weather in the Pacific Northwest.  He produced the first waterproof paper and notebooks in 1916, and it was history.  The company has been around for over 100 years, and I swear by these notebooks for adventuring and survival.

Whether it is hiking and camping through inclement weather, or taking post dive notes on a dive trip, the Rite In The Rain Notebooks and Fisher Space Pen or pens with the Fisher Space Pen Pressurized Cartridges never failed me, and Rite In The Rain have an unconditional guarantee if it fails to write on their paper.

They have an array of notebooks, paper, and accessories like weatherproof covers, including the new arm band kit.  I made my own arm band kit for diving (using a cut PVC pipe, a used wet suit to protect my arm and dry suit – also holds the index cards, and elastic Velcro bands) and have taken the paper and the Fisher Space Pen underwater and took notes.

For survival, this is by far the only choice of paper for me to carry in my bags.  I do take a standard notebook, but it is only used with a special pencil or Fisher Space Pens, and only used in dry conditions.  I highly recommend getting exactly what you need from Rite In The Rain, and add it to your bags.
