How do you keep teeth clean when outdoors?
Interesting question for a survival site, but your teeth are critical to your survival as you will need them to chew on food.

Making a splint in an emergency situation is a skill you must learn and practice. These things can happen from hiking, camping, extreme sports, and in survival situations. Here are some methods for splints.
Absolutely! You don’t need to be able to run a half marathon or a marathon. You just need to be able to run to escape. Running has other benefits. One of the key things to prepare for survival is being healthy. Over 40% of the US population is obese. And I am not talking about BMI slightly over 24 (I am not a fan of BMI) but significantly over. And many of those obese people are on prescription drugs.
If you use it often, once a week. If not, look at its cutting capability, and if it is not up to par, sharpen it. Make sure you take your time to sharpen your knives in order to avoid damaging the edge. Don’t forget to lube your knife as well. Once a year, I take the knife apart to lube it. Last but not least, treat the blade with oil (knife oil, camellia oil, kurobara, and the like).
I got asked this question recently, and I’ll share my answer with you. No. The likelihood of requiring a jump out of a plane or helicopter is extremely low. On commercial flights, there are no parachutes. On most helicopter flights, there are no parachutes. So the need to jump out of a flying machine is not something you really need to know in order to survive, though it can come I handy if you have packed your own parachute and there is a situation on a small plane that is flying high enough for the jump.
Meshtastic is gaining popularity faster than I had ever thought. It is a great way to send messages to people off-grid or with no cell or internet service. You can build your own (check this post) or you can buy one already built on different sites.
This can be trickier than people think. They see people do it on TV shows like Naked and Afraid and think that they can do it. The key to starting a fire with a ferro rod is dry tinder and small dry twigs, and dry larger branches. Also, air as the flint ignites the tinder is critical. If your fire starting kit has magnesium on it, it makes it a bit easier, but not necessarily easy.
I get asked this question a lot. The answer is a resounding yes. Weather radios can give you information about what is going on, what is coming (in most cases), and what they recommend if severe weather is imminent.
This is a great question, and I’ll go over the list below. But this question really deserves to ask the question of the type of camping you are going to do. If you are camping out of a car, bring all the creature comforts. If you are doing a hike through, you may want to minimize what you bring to make the hike a bit easier.
Yes, but learn to swim and tread water at the same time. If you’re going to spend time in the water, why not train both. Treading water is an important skill, and one that needs to be mastered. Becoming good at treading water is partly a mental fitness as well as physical.
