There are some things about 5.11 Tactical products that I like. Quality, design, and function seems to work well for me. Bags and backpacks are very subjective, and in most cases, personal taste that makes us select a specific one. I like MOLLE webbing so I can attach many things to make room for the essentials that I cannot attach to the front and sides of the bag. That being said, my favorite bag is the 5.11 Tactical RUSH series. I have the original RUSH 24, and the RUSH 12 2.0. They are my go to bags for many things, though the RUSH 24 has been delegated as my Go-Bag.

Here are things I love about the RUSH series:

  • Comfortable straps
  • MOLLE webbing on the straps
  • Plenty of space and pockets
  • Hydration bladder compatible
  • MOLLE webbing all around the backpack
  • Concealed carry compartment for your weapon (2.0 series)
  • 1050D Nylon (1000D for Multicam option)
  • Laptop sleeve that is slightly elevated from the bottom to minimize impact (2.0 series)
  • Nice Grab and Go handle
  • Hardware to attach a waist belt (RUSH belt kit)

I wish they would include the RUSH belt kit with every pack, but you don’t always need the belt if your load isn’t too heavy (a heavy load RUSH 24 or larger pack definitely needs a RUSH belt kit. A backpack belt, in some cases, gets in the way of what you may be wearing on your belt so, I recommend playing around with your carry configuration prior to getting the belt and really loading the pack.

I have attached a couple of water bottle holders (MOLLE), a MOLLE antenna holder, MOLLE GPS holder for my Garmin GPSMAP 66i, and some other MOLLE accessories to attach a flashlight on my shoulder, and some other attachments. They also carry many MOLLE accessories to add to your pack if required.

There is really nothing bad to say about the pack at all. I am a big fan of their RUSH series backpack, and I hope this helps you decide on a good pack for either EDC, adventuring, or your survival bags.
