I have many pants for range day, hiking, and adventuring, but I must say, the Condor Cipher Pants are one of the most comfortable yet durable pants I have worn.  I have been wearing them for over a week, from simple tasks as yard work, hiking, and some outdoor range time, and I am starting to like these that I may but a few more.

They come in a variety of sizes based on waist and inseam, in 4 colors, Flat Dark Earth (FDE), Charcoal, Black and Khaki.  The pants are made of 97% Nylon and 3% Spandex.  I have the FDE Cipher pants, and it goes well with most of the colors I wear.

Here are some things I like:

It doesn’t look like a pair of Military or LEO pants, so I can wear it for adventures or just hanging out.  It has a lot of stretchability without feeling like I am in yoga pants, and without it being baggy.  A slim fit without being tight, but enough room on the pant leg to wear boots.

Articulated knee and gusseted crotch areas makes moving in these and being in very stretched out positions more comfortable (try rock climbing in theses, it’s so comfortable and unrestrictive)

There are ample pockets for all the EDC items.  Speaking of pockets, there is a zippered pocket on the right side by the thighs.  When I first put them on, there are a pair of straps in the inside, and I first thought it was a sewing issue.

This is to maintain stability of the heavy item you may put in that zippered pocket.  I put in a large phone with an Otterbox Defender case with the holster or a fully loaded AR magazine in that pocket, and it stayed put due to the straps on the top and the bottom of the mesh pocket balancing the weight.  I got used to putting on these pants, knowing that there are support straps for that pocket.

The seams were meticulous, and I had no loose threads on the pants I received.  The zipper, and I am a big fan of great zippers, are YKK, which means it will outlast the pants.  The button is not one of those you push into a metal stud (some of those stops working after a while), and it doesn’t unbutton from intense movement.

There are two pockets for gadgets and/or magazines.  The waist has elastic bands, for IWB carry, so no need to size up if you do conceal carry with extra magazines clipped to IWB holsters on the other side.

Here are some things I wish it had or was questionable about:

I wish it had reinforced areas on the front pockets to carry clipped items like flashlights and knives, though it doesn’t look like it will fray quickly.

Those straps in the inside of the pants are interesting in how it works, but you must remember them when you are putting the pants on.  When you are putting these pants on in the dark and forget those straps are there, your right toe may get caught on them.

Summary:

With all that said, I love these pants.  They are going to be my go-to pants for everyday wear.  Yes, I will wash them often.  And I intend to use them heavily on adventures.  If they fail sooner than expected, I will update this post, but so far, they are one of my favorite pants for both casual wear and my many adventures.  Pick up a pair and try them for yourself today.
