I have many pants for range day, hiking, and adventuring.  I do like the Condor Odyssey Gen II Pants.  It seems very nice and durable.  I have been wearing them for about a week.

They come in a variety of sizes based on waist and inseam, in 5 colors that works for military and law enforcement, as well as civilians, in Olive Drab, Navy, Black, Flat Dark Earth (FDE), and Charcoal.  I have the FDE Odyssey pants, and it goes well with most of the colors I wear.  The pants are made of 63% Polyester, 34% Cotton, and 3% Spandex.  It also has a DWR coating to resist the elements

Here are some things I like:

It doesn’t look like a pair of Military or LEO pants, so I can wear it for adventures without looking tactical.  It has a mixture of stretchable rip stop and 4-way stretch nylon fabrics (these are 97% Nylon, 3% Spandex) offering a lot of stretchability and flexibility.  For the materials used, these feel very lightweight in comparison to other rip stop fabric pants I own.  The DWR coating repels water (water resistant) and stain resistance which is nice adventuring in the elements.

Articulated knee and gusseted crotch areas makes moving in these and being in stretched out positions more comfortable.

There are ample pockets for a variety of items.  The two front pockets have clip protection layer for knives or flashlights.  The other nice thing about these pants, is that it doesn’t show a lot of pockets like some operator pants.

Plus, there are hidden pockets by each knee made specially for their knee pads (Knee Pad Pro Inserts – optional). Here is a photo of the front of the knee pads.

This is to offer knee protection when kneeling or impact protection on the knee.  The knee pads are made of dense foam, and it is made to fit in a variety of positions against the knee.  Inserting the knee pads are straight forward.

You face the knee pads upside down as pictured above, then fold them towards you slightly to insert the pads.  Once inserted, you can flatten the shape.  Removing it is a bit trickier, but you bend them inside towards you and gently pull the knee pad out, then bend the rest of the section and pull to remove.

The seams were meticulous, and I had no loose threads on the pants I received.  The zippers are YKK, which means it will outlast the pants.  The button is not one of those you push into a metal stud (some of those stops working after a while), and it doesn’t unbutton from intense movement.

The waist has elastic bands, for IWB carry, so no need to size up if you do conceal carry with extra magazines clipped to IWB holsters on the other side.  It did seem a bit fit on the waist when I first worn them, but after attaching the various items both outside and inside the waist band, it seemed to fit fine.  If you prefer a more relaxed fit, go up one size, though I did not need to.

The bottom of the pants is wide enough for boots which is always a plus.  I did wish it had a way to adjust the bottom cuff to narrower or wider, but it didn’t bother me too much.

Summary:

There was not much to complain about these, and I love these pants.  They are comfortable, lightweight, and very capable for adventure wear.  I intend to use them heavily on adventures.  Keep in mind DWR coating does fail over time.  The best way to maintain the factory DWR coating is to follow the care instructions.  You can reapply DWR coating if required over time.  If the pants fail me sooner than expected, I will update this post, but so far, they are one of my favorite pants for my many adventures.  Pick up a pair and try them for yourself today.
