My favorite navigation device – Garmin GPSMAP 66i

The Garmin GPSMAP 66i is a great navigation device and an emergency communication device. There is a new model, the GPSMAP 67i which has longer battery life and a more accurate GPS system. I personally have not had problems with GPS accuracy on the GPSMAP 66i, so I don’t intend to upgrade anytime soon. I have maps loaded which will allow me to navigate in most situations around the US.

Never be lost using orienteering and navigation

I have seen so many people get turned around and they spend hours finding where they are, how off course they have become, and have to setup a make shift camp before they get to their destination. Most people think that their cell phone or GPS units will get them to their destination, until there is a failure of those items in one way or another, and they go off course, and now they are lost.
