Underwear is not the most interesting topic, but it needs to be addressed in a survival situation. When I go long term camping, I bring 3 underwear (one I am wearing, and 2 in my pack in a zip lock or waterproof bag.) For survival or camping, any more than 3 is a luxury.
What I look for in travel or survival underwear are the following:
- Antibacterial
- Quick dry
- Easy to clean
- Minimizes odor
There are quite a few out there but they seem to be quite expensive (over $30 each). I did find one that meets all my key requirements and it works quite well. One of the things I have been looking at and interestingly enough I found is something made out of modal (bamboo is another option, but modal seems to feel softer on my skin.)
I usually don’t like to go beyond 2 days with the same underwear, and if possible, I want a clean pair everyday, so I usually wash one and hang to dry after I put on a fresh pair.
Here is one of my favorite options for travel/camping/survival underwear:
If I find more that I like, I will update this post.
