Which is better, a recurve or compound bow for survival?

Hands down a recurve bow.  Even better would be a takedown recurve bow as they can be taken down (usually in 3 pieces and the bow string), and easily packed or attached to your pack when traveling.  A recurve bow can easily be strung, and making string with natural items isn’t too difficult.  I love my compound bow, recurve crossbow, and compound crossbow, but those are rather large and very difficult to takedown.  Also, restringing a compound bow can be complex and you will need a good bow bench.  If I had to take one bow, it would be my takedown recurve bow with some spare strings and a restring kit.
